Some thoughts about being Organized or NOT

Take the thoughts that help you, leave the rest...

When we’re NOT organized,

WE LOSE TIME

  • Looking for misplaced items and papers
  • And clearing off our kitchen counter or table every time we want to cook and eat

If we get organized,
we will have more TIME to do what we enjoy, like practicing a hobby, or spending quality time with friends and family.

When we’re NOT organized,

WE STRESS OUT

  • Worrying about what we’re forgetting to do or

WE STRESS OUT

  • When our mother-in-law is coming over and our house is a mess.

When we’re organized
, we feel CALM and more in control of our lives.

When we’re NOT organized,

WE LOSE MONEY…

  • Paying library or other late fees because we missed the deadlines.
  • We lose gift cards, refund checks, or even cash.
  • We buy duplicate items because we don’t know what we have or where it is.

When we’re organized
, we’re more likely to take advantage of money SAVING deals and use coupons and gift cards.

When we’re NOT organized, w
e feel like we’re always behind…

SO WE CAN’T BE VERY SPONTANEOUS

If we’re organized,
when a friend asks us out to lunch at the last minute, we can say YES and not worry that there will be no clean laundry in the morning.

When we’re NOT organized,

WE TEND TO ISOLATE OURSELVES

  • Because we might be embarrassed by how our home looks and we avoid having people over or
  • We may find it hard to go out with friends and family because we feel like we should be home organizing or getting caught up.

OUR ENERGY AND GENERAL HEALTH SUFFERS

  • Because being stressed out and anxious about clutter and disorganization drains energy.
  • We tend not to exercise and we tend to visit fast food restaurants too often, causing weight gain and other health issues.

WE LOSE CONFIDENCE AND FOCUS

  • We might worry that someone will find out we really don’t “have it all together” the way they think we do (but I’m not sayin’ that’s right).

When we get more organized
, we’re more likely to FEEL GREAT about ourselves. When clutter is gone, it’s easier to stay FOCUSED on the important issues and the important PEOPLE in our lives.
